CAREER CONNECTIONS

The Career Connections program is a designed to show students who are not college bound that a successful career is within reach.

Establishing a Career Path
To High-wage, In-demand Jobs

The Career Connections program, developed by the Carpenters International Training Fund, is designed to introduce high school students to a potential career in the construction industry. The program gives students who are not college-bound the opportunity to explore a career in one of the various trades that make up the construction industry.

The Career Connections curriculum incorporates a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and field experiences with industry experts.

Students learn skills ranging from basic carpentry to advanced commercial and residential construction.

The four-year program prepares students to move directly into union trade apprenticeships after high school graduation. As students work through the program, they earn certifications that translate into credits earned toward their union apprenticeship, giving them a head start to their career.

TANGIBLE OPPORTUNITY

"This is a tremendous opportunity for local high school students to learn about various career options in the construction trades industry. Education plays a large role in the IKORCC (Carpenters Union), and it's our pleasure to be able to provide students with the tools necessary to quickly move forward with their construction careers after high school."
